It's #huevember! Another month long social media a It's #huevember! Another month long social media art challenge but one that is based on the colour wheel!I'm not taking part but these mugs I painted perfectly fit the hue for #huevember2025day5 🟨🟡⭐️🌝This is another collab with my talented sister @lokurostudio. I'm so lucky that she's so generous with her work and allows me to have fun and÷ experiment!Here I used a wax resist and then glazed over the whole mug.Hannah warned me that the yellow burns off really easily but I really wanted to create a gradation effect with the yellow and rose colours .... but of course, she was right and the mug with more of the yellow glaze came out very light. The darker of the 2 mugs (aka the one that turned out) now is in London, England where I hope coffee loving @bianca.ng or tea loving @dominiclipscomb use it!#huevember2025 #huevember #hues #ceramics #handpainted #mugs
As part of Connextions #Oakville, two of my waterc As part of Connextions #Oakville, two of my watercolour paintings were chosen to adorn the exterior doors at the Queen Elizabeth Park Community & Cultural Centre (QEPCC).These two paintings are part of my Dreamscapes series, where I explore abstracting local flora through colour and celebrate pollinators.Both of these paintings feature honey bees, while one has abstracted roses and the other painting has abstracted magnolias 🐝🌹These window murals can be seen from the Yolanda side parking lot at the Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre, 2302 Bridge Road, @townofoakville 🩵As long as the murals don't fade these pieces might be up for as long as 7 years! This past weekend there was a huge Culture Days ev This past weekend there was a huge Culture Days event at the Queen Elizabeth Park Community & Cultural Centre in @townofoakville amd I got to be part of the festivities 🥳As part of a celebration for the installation of my art onto the glass windows next to two entrances to the community centre, I was asked to host a workshop 🎨🖌Naturally I wanted to share my love of watercolour with people, so I decided to teach people the negative painting technique that I used to make my paintings used for the window murals.I wasn't sure how many people would show up but I had a few people waiting for the workshop even before I got to the venue!Despite some struggles and exasperation, I think I was able to impart some negative painting techniques to the participants. If anything, they really got to experience the true nature of being an artist: development through frustration 🤣@culturedays is a national event with cultural activities hosted in cities all across Canada.
