Creating a #monoprint with text means drawing the Creating a #monoprint with text means drawing the print backwards so that the text will reveal itself the right way when printing!Here I traced my design onto the backside of my acetate panel using a dry erase marker to create the outlines. Then I flipped the acetate over to start using my #neocolor2 crayons to draw in the art seemingly backwards.After painting for so long, I forgot how tedious it is to fill in large areas by crayon!!It's taking a while but I'm almost ready to print this piece!#originalart #makeartnotwar #printmakingforthepeople

The 'Friendship Through Culture / 化がわかる。心がかよう。' show at the @japanesecanadianculturalcentre is on until the end of May and I have 3 pieces in it!I painted 3 brand new paintings just for the show because I was inspired to share how food is usually the first way people experience and enjoy new cultures.The fastest way to a person's heart is through their stomach 💜I specifically chose 3 desserts that have fusion roots but are decidedly Japanese.Matcha soft serve: ice cream with a very Japanese flavour, matcha （抹茶）Have influencers moved on to a new 'super food' yet?Taiyaki: a red bean paste （あんこ）dessert with a western pancake like outer shellStrawberry choco: this artificial strawberry flavour is such a uniquely Japanese take on chocolate. And when adorned with Sanrio characters, how can anyone deny this is a Japanese dessert?'Friendship Through Culture / 化がわかる。心がかよう。' is on until May 29, 2026.- - - I'm also working on opening up a print on demand shop and was thinking of including some of these painting as part of the shop launch.Which one should I include?Which painting from these should I include in my print-on-demand shop launch?
