In 2025 with the passing of Bill 5 "Protect Ontari In 2025 with the passing of Bill 5 "Protect Ontario by Unleashing the Economy" Act, Doug Ford and his Conservative MPPs killed the Endangered Species Act. The ESA was then officially repealed in March of 2026.Coupled with the upcoming, federal, Bill C-39 'Building Canada Strong' Act, our environment is yet again destroyed in the name of 'development'.To commemorate all the threatened, endangered and species of concern I'm going to draw them. While also calling out all the MPPs who are responsible for putting short term financial gain over the care and stewardship of our precious environment.🐍Massassauga Rattlesnake: Great Lakes population is threatened, the Carolinas population is endangered🐍Timber Rattlesnake: extirpated in 1941#conservation #canadianart #endangeredspecies #environmentovereconomy #prismacolor
The Endangered Species Act was repealed in Ontario The Endangered Species Act was repealed in Ontario, threatening endangered and species of concern and their habitats and feeding grounds.The biggest thing by repealing this Act is that development projects can start without being reviewed by the government!Habitats for animals are now just their nesting ans denning sitee and not their feeding grounds.There are many more things that have dismantled due to thid important Acr being repealed.Here I've drawn a Massassauga rattle snake (now Ontario's only rattle snake) where 1 population is listed as endangered and another southern Ontario population is considered threatened.Without the protections of the Endangered Species Act, we may lose our one and only rattlesnake in the Province.I also drew a Timber rattle snake, which is extirpated in Ontario since 1941.Do you think we need an Endangered Species Act that actively tries to protect animals and also includes recovery strategies to bring animals and insects back from the brink?#endangeredspecies #threatenedspecies #environmentalprotection #prismacolor #drawing

I attended a #rewilding ink making workship this q I attended a #rewilding ink making workship this qeek3nd where we learned how many things that can be found in our back laneways can make beautiful #ink!I happened upon a man cleaning up branches from some tree weeds that he had trimmed. He was happy to allow me tp take as many leaves as I wanted.Turns out these leaves are from Mountain Ash, aka Rowan Tree!
