My birthday falls on the 100th day of year (so lon My birthday falls on the 100th day of year (so long as it's not a leap year) and I always want to complete a 100 day challenge that ends on it, but I usually forget to create one until it's too late. The only 100 day challenge I successfully completed for my birthday was exercising every day back in 2022.I failed a previous art challenge where I tried to draw or paint a human cell for 100 days (I gave up at day 39 when I realized I was waaaaaaaay behind). So after some careful thinking, I decided to do an art challenge again but this time I made the art format SMALL!To add some accountability, I'm announcing the challenge here and sharing #day1 of my mini art challenge! The landscape is from the roof of my house looking east towards a sunrise.A few extra rules not talked about in the reel:
🎨 no skipping ahead even if I have time and having fun🎨 stick to #neocolor2 watercolour crayons (from @ng.bianca) as the medium🎨 try to stay loose (v. hard for me!)🎨 no judgement (v. v. hard for me)I'm at #day6 now! Will I be able to complete this art marathon??#100daychallenge #artchallenge
My holiday wish for world peace always feels a bit My holiday wish for world peace always feels a bit trite and also a little naive and simplistic. With on-going conflicts and new ones that have just occurred, world peace seems like a futile and unattainable dream. .... but one that we can't give up on!- - -
I'm still sending these cards out! In Japan, people don't send Christmas cards but New Year's cards called 'nengajyo-' (年賀状).Let me know if you'd like one! Let's spread love and peace!!#worldpeace #🕊
I'm still a sucker for top nine. Here's mine for 2 I'm still a sucker for top nine. Here's mine for 2025!The collage reflects all the fun public art I was able to create, but what's not shown is that this year I got to dip my toes in art facilitation. The first facilitation opportunity was through the Wynford Seniors Group and I got to meet and watch Japanese-Canadian seniors create and explore visual arts. The second facilitation opportunity was through Oakville Culture Days where I got to teach people how to create watercolours through my favourite negative painting technique. While my top nine isn't my whole story for 2025, it shows some of what happened when I tried to say YES to everything.I hope to continue that YES momentum into 2026🎍✨️皆様、良いお年を!
